Bank messed up our HTB ISA

Hi, we’ve just been informed that the bank had messed up our help to buy ISA. We called last Thursday to close the account as we’re due to get our keys this Friday 3rd of July. I was advised on the phone that the account would be closed by close of play that day (Thursday 25th June) and the money would be in my account the same day. However when we went to the bank yesterday (Monday 29th June) the bank had advised that the account was only just closed on the 29th of June but the money was transferred on Thursday 25th June. When we questioned them about getting a closing statement they advised that there wasn’t one available but to come back the next day. We went back to the bank today to be told that someone has messed up BOTH our ISAs and that it may take 5 to 7 working days to get the addendum needed for the bonus. This is of no use to us as we’re due to get our keys this Friday and we have no idea what to do.
Can anyone help as we’re really unsure what our options are now?

Have you exchanged? What has your solicitor advised?0

The solicitor hasn’t gotten back to us yet. We haven’t signed missives on the property yet and no money has exchanged hands, but we don’t want to prolong the date of entry as the flat we are renting is now being sold off.0

did you explain at the initial contact you were withdrawing money for a purchase so would need a closing statement or did you just say you wanted to close your account? Lots of people got caught out in the past closing their account/withdrawing money the wrong way and it took an age to get the bonusAn answer isn't spam just because you don't like it......0

I asked for a closing statement so I guess I just assumed the person from the bank would know that I was buying a house. I don’t remember specifically saying I was buying a house but I asked them if that was how it was meant to be done so that we could get our bonus and they assured me that they were doing it right. The guy at the bank today did admit that they had made a mistake.0

Let your solicitor know and he will delay concluding missives.Mortgage started 2020, aiming to clear 31/12/2029.0

Won’t can’t delay the missives because the property we’re renting is selling the flat to someone else. Which is why we’re in a pickle just now.0
