Unable to download in IE7

I have a Sony Viao Laptop, with Vista premium.
I have been unable to download any files and get the error message,

Internet Explorer cannot download (file) from (website)
The connection with the server was reset.

I'm not very good with computers, but i know a bit,
please help me!

Try this

Go into internet Explorer

Tools | Internet Options | Security Tab

Click on Custom Level

Scroll down to File Download

Click Enable

Click Apply then OK

It didn't work for me, all of them are enabled.

Are you downloading from an FTP site or is it an Http download?

the web address starts with https

I am loathe to suggest this, but could you temporarily disable your firewall to see if you can now download

Nope no luck when disabled

Try this then

go to Tools | Internet Options | Advanced Tab and click on Reset… button

Now see if you can download

Can you check that your PCs time and date are correct?
