We had a holiday booked for 30th March to the 6th of April with Teletext Holidays. Obviously it was cancelled yet we have received a credit note from Ryanair for the flights yet are struggling with Teletext as they want to change our holiday and charge us double. We are under the impression that Ryanair shouldn't have sent us a credit note due to it being a package holiday and Teletext should provide us with a full refund, is this correct and what are our rights?

Does your ATOL certificate show that it is a package holiday? If so, then yes, you are entitled to a full refund from Teletext.

And once you have the money back from them, never ever use Teletext Holidays ever again, for the love of god 🤣
  • Is this a full cash refund rather than a credit note?

Yes, cash refund. They can offer you vouchers/credit note instead, but there is no obligation to accept them. Ryanair have form with sending vouchers after customers have asked for refunds.
Is there really still a company called Teletext Holidays?!

  • I have just received an email from BA saying they have changed my seats, but when I went online they have cancelled my flights from Gatwick and moved them to Heathrow using the same flight numbers and times. There was no mention of a change of airport in their email and I don’t want to travel to Heathrow can I claim cash refund Under the circumstances ?

Yes you can: change of airport is a significant change. But you may wait months for a refund, so either accept the change or do a chargeback on your card provider.

  • Ryanair sent us a credit note without us asking for it at all, as it's a package holiday we assume this is wrong? Teletext have been extremely unhelpful we will not be using them again.

Not wishing to jump to anyone's defence but ALL the companies have been hard work in this present drama!   I've had some brilliant holidays with Teletext, really good value and fantastic rooms, however, since all this I wouldn't know who to suggest was better or worse t.b.h.      People are struggling to get any info from anyone,  Love Holidays, On the Beach, Last Minute, Secret Escapes etc etc.   Maybe stick to the airlines who offer package holidays?       Hope you get it sorted Rebecca.

Do you have an ATOL certificate showing it is a package holiday?
  • Does anybody know if BA are pulling out of London Gatwick permanently ? It is showing flights for 2021, but I don’t want to book them if they are going to switch them to Heathrow again .
