Section 75 and Shearing holiday deposit

Hi all - just a query regarding Section 75 as I'm unclear and trying to guide my Father-in-law. He paid a £150 deposit for a coach holiday with now failed Shearings. It was however £75 per person for him and his friend. Can he submit a section 75 claim to his Credit Card company or is he stuck as its under £100 per person paid to date?  TY

No the tickets need to be £100 each, even then his friends ticket likely wouldn't have been covered.

Call them though and try and instigate a charge back.

Oh wait, thats a deposit, just noticed that, yes if the total cost is over £100 each then a S75 is possible.
The friends cost likely wont be covered though just yours as it a personal thing and whilst family might be covered friends arent.

FIL has just had this bombshell on him for a golfing holiday that was cancelled. As always he pays on his CC and his friends pay him back. The charge back he has raised might still be successful though.

    No need for S75.

This is a straight forward chargeback which will cover the £150.

I wish people would stop fixating on S75 when they have problems on credit cards.
If in doubt about any purchase. Speak to your card provider. They are best placed to advise of the action required.
