Online Broker ETF charges?

Can anyone tell me which Brokers charge the least for using their platform for ETF monthly drip feeding. I'm with AJ Bell but their charges on top of the fund charges seem a bit pricey. Thanks.

  • Inside or outside an ISA?
Off the top of my head, Hargreaves Lansdown work out cheapest outside an ISA at the moment - no regular fees if it's just ETFs, and £1.50 per monthly investment.
Inside an ISA, it's probably Halifax - £2 per monthly investment, and a £12.50 yearly fee. HL is still £1.50 per investment in an ISA, but they charge 0.45% (up to a cap of £45) on your total ISA holding each year. Depending on how much you're putting in, that will become more expensive than Halifax, probably sooner rather than later.

Somewhere, there is an online tool, or a spreadsheet, to calculate over a span of years, but I haven't got the URLs.

If it's one of the ETFs it offers - it has lots of iShares' and Vanguard's - then you could do it with Freetrade outside of an Isa at zero commission and with no account fee. Within an Isa it would cost £3 per month for an account fee and you'd still pay no commission.
