    That article is just the usual tabloid click bait, headlines something, then when you click and read the whole article you find the opposite.

    It doesn't matter how long the warranty is you can still ask for it to be repaired/replaced if it hasn't lasted for a reasonable time. Defining that is difficult but I would expect most people would agree that a fridge/freezer should last longer than 14 months.
    You should give them another chance to rectify the situation - put it in writing - and if you get no joy you could get an engineer to repair it and then demand a refund via the small claims court.
