0% Santander 0% fee for balance transfer over 18 months

I applied and got refused even though I've got excellent credit. Does anyone know if this deal even exists and hope that this does not affect my credit file. I've been on Clearscore and seems like no-one has even done a credit score. I would like answers but not prepared to pay for a file which they haven't even looked at. I shall go elsewhere and as looking for other products mortgages, savings and insurance products then they have lost business through this.

It's just one search. It will have no discernable impact. If you applied for the offer then it exists but you don't meet the criteria to get it.

Don't pay for your credit files - get the free versions via MSE, Clearscore and Credit Karma.

Santander don’t use Equifax whom clearscore use to get your report. They use Experian as the credit report provider, so you may need to check what’s on there.

You also may not fit the type of customer Santander is looking for, so that could be another reason for a decline.

What do you mean by excellent credit, I hope you don’t mean the fictional number they give you as again not lender ever sees it or uses it. What they do, do is score you against there own internal score.
Time is a path from the past to the future and back again. The present is the crossroads of both.

Yes. I applied and got this at ~£9k for 18 months 0% and 0% fee, so it does exist.
Have you ever previously had a Santander account?

Similar. They won't have me as a customer. Despite having an unblemished credit history, no missed payments, and low utilisation. Maybe they just don't like that I have so much credit available, too many cards, never paid interest, or my favourite colour.. I'm just not profitable, for them.

Having said that, it is only a soft search they've done.

Little point in cutting off one's nose to spite one's face.  Another day another product a different outcome.
