MOT - Used Car
I'm purchasing a car hopefully next Monday all going well with inspection.  As part of the sale the dealer has said they will MOT the vehicle. I've checked GOV.UK and all it shows is MOT extension until Nov 2020 due to Covid19. Thinking of phoning the dealer prior to seeing the vehicle to check MOT will definitely be done. If they say they wont as extension covers until Nov 2020 would you just walk away or take it and MOT yourself. Really like the car but dont want be throwing money at it so soon. I've allready got £150 off as diamond cut alloys need repair. Unfortunately they didnt send email confirming conditions of sale so nothing written down. What would you do?

If they've said they will MOT it as part of the deal, let them MOT it, simples. As a little aside how many alloys need repairing? I hope its not all of them as £150 wont get you far!1

Sounds about right, last time I had one done it was £80 a rim

Can you not get £200-£300 knocked off price then?1 -

Tried to haggle, that was the best they could do. I also asked if any chance of them throwing in some number plates for my private plates. Apparently they don't do that due to cost to the dealership. I don't want to let the car go but at the same time don't want to be a fool either 🙈onlyfoolsandparking said:Sounds about right, last time I had one done it was £80 a rim
