7months in who is responsible?

Hi All,
New here, I did read Martin’s guide and the sticky but I’m not sure if I’ve picked them up correctly.

I purchased an Elvie breastpump from an online retailer in November 2019. My baby wasn’t born until late May so I’ve only started using it recently. I’ve noticed the suction is just rubbish on it now and doesn’t work. I’ve tried the online troubleshooting through the manufacturer. I raised a query with the retailer who said I have 6 months warranty from them and 6 months from the manufacturer so to contact the manufacturer as they couldn’t help me. Is this correct? Original payment method was PayPal credit if that makes any difference to the outcome.

What I read in Martin’s article was it was the seller who I made the contract with when purchasing and now it’s up to me to prove there was a fault? It’s a common theme when googling this product so it does seem like an issue? But do I go to the retailer or the manufacturer?

Sorry! I’m confused

Steph

After 6 months its on you to prove an inherent fault, do that via an independent expert then you can use that on the retailer to exercise your consumer rights. The cost of the report, if they accept it can also be reclaimed.

Going to the manufacture at this point is the easiest option, as the retailer actually doesn't need to do anything at this point.
