Cancelled flights but hotel hopes to reopen

Cancelled flights but the hotel in Majorca hopes to reopen 1 week before our arrival date. Can I get a refund from the hotel as well as the airline as this is not a package holiday or will I have to get alternative flights. Please advise.

This has been answered numerous times, but the general jist is this: you booked flights and hotels separately. The hotel wont give a toss if the flights are cancelled, and the airline wont give a toss if the hotel is cancelled. So yes, you will have to get alternative flights, its not the fault of the hotel you cant get there.

If the hotel is open and you have a non-refundable booking then you would be best to speak to your travel insurance company.

This is the downside to booking separate items, if one service isn’t available and the other is then you tend to lose out. Of the hotel is open then you stand very little chance of a refund and you’re only route then would be insurance anyway. The hotel may not open so just worth hanging on for now?

As above, you're not entitled to a refund of the hotel.  Options are basically:

1) Find alternative flights if you want to go and there are some available
2) Speak to the hotel and explain the situation.  Even with a non-refundable booking they may offer you something as a gesture of goodwill, date change or credit note etc.
3) Speak to your travel insurance and see if you're covered.
