Travel insurance had a clause in respect of a pandemic!

I had to return home after seven days of a 30 day holiday due to the coronavirus.  Unbelievably my insurance company had a clause in case of having to return home early due to a pandemic so wouldn't pay out.  Just listened to Martin on This Morning who advises staying with the same insurance company if you have another holiday booked for later in the year.  Last December I booked another holiday for October but am loathe to use the same insurance company again.  My annual policy expires in August.  What would you advise?
