Redundancy Consultation Period on Furlough

My husband has been advised that as of Friday 26th June he is now in a 30 day redundancy consultation period. He works for a hotel and they have decided that it is no longer financially viable to keep it open in the current economic climate. The business is not in liquidation, as the Estate that owns it is reportedly worth £175,000,000. Since lockdown he has been furloughed on 80% (the employer not making up the additional 20%). As of 4th July the business is legally allowed to open again but they have made the decision not to, the reason given being that the business is no longer financially viable. Our question is, for the rest of the consultation period from the 4th July - should the employees be on 100%, since if it wasn't for the owners decision not to open the business, it would be running as normal. We just wanted to make sure all employees are getting what they are entitled to.

Just because a company can open again on the 4th July does not mean they have to. In some places where social distancing is next to impossible they will probably wait and see what happens. So they can carry on claiming furlough for the staff.1

Once they are on notice of termination they may be due full pay.
Will depend on the difference between contractual and statutory notice.
Then if the furlough legislation overrides the employment act1
