Bathroom mirrors

Hi,
I just purchased my first home in the UK. My experience with DIY is pretty much limited to homes in Europe when I was growing up so I have little experience on building regs in the UK. The new build I just bought has no wiring for mirror lights at all (in Europe there's usually a bundle of wires coming of the wall where the mirror should be).  I would like to install a few mirrors with demist and LED lights, but the problem is the lack of wiring. The only wiring I can think is is the shaver socket box.

What do people usually do to wire mirrors???

Seems a bit odd that a new build with so much stuff built in has no wiring for mirrors :)

Thanks
Y

Welcome to the club. UK electrical regulations are extremely strict, especially for bathrooms. You won't find normal sockets and switches there, let alone loose mains wires.

I think it should be straightforward to extend from the shaver socket (assuming you can get the wires where you want them without much disruption), but get a part P certified electrician in - look up part P building regs for details. Won't cost much, even cheaper if you suss out the route for the wire beforehand.
