Driving through Europe

We regularly drive to Italy for our summer break, and had planned to do the same this year......anyone any idea where I can find information about whether this is going to be possible?  I have worded my search in lots of different ways, but unable to find anything as yet.  Wondering whether to just sack it for this year, would hate to get to Luxembourg and be turned back!!!  Thoughts anyone?

If the advice changes tomorrow there's no reason why you can't go?. To be honest there's nothing stopping you going now, plenty have. The only thing at the moment is having to self isolate for two weeks on the way home.

I usually drive to the South of France or Spain and have given up completely this year. I’ve booked campsites at home instead. I usually book my ferry just before Christmas for the following year and won’t be doing that either. I’ll book a short-crossing next year at short notice. 

I was speaking to a lorry driver who said several of his mates have kept running fish and food to France and Spain and they’ve been surprised how few problems they’ve had with getting meals and showers, especially in the South of France. His view was that the lockdown was quite relaxed, but that may only be truck stops.
