Combi or heat pump?

Options

Hello I’ve recently moved into an end of terrace 1920s house. The boiler is a very old gas boiler where the controls don’t work so it is just on or off and the walls are solid. Not sure whether to replace it with a combi or a heat pump or maybe even get controls added and then go for a heat pump later.

The doors and windows are new along with floor insulation and some loft insulation. Longer term I want to get EWI and solar at the same time along with replacing the flat roof on two extensions and improving the insulation. This won’t be for 5 yrs though and am concerned that a heat pump would cost a lot to run in the meantime (I believe the RHI payments will cover most of the installation cost)

Any advice or thoughts welcome

Don't bother with a heat pump until you've got the EWI. You likely wouldn't qualify for the RHI unless you've already got it as there's a prerequisite EPC level iirc.
    8kW (4kW WNW, 4kW SSE) 6kW inverter. 6.5kWh battery.
