Garage conversion heating options?

What is the best heating option for a garage being turned into an office?
The garage is 40 yards from the house so can't install from the boiler.
Heating efficiency vs cost to run will be the main factors of course :)

Depends on how much use it's going to get. For a handful of hours a week I would just install an electric fan convector - for a 40 hr week, every week, I would consider something like an air conditioning split unit.

    Don't scrimp on the insulation.

As above.  Electric is the only option and as all electric heaters are equally efficient, it comes down to your use pattern.  Your only influence over efficiency is insulation.
