Kingswood Activity Centre

Good morning,

I was after some advice regarding Kingswood Activity Centre in Ashford.  They obviously shut during the corona virus so our children were unable to go.  They were meant to go for 5 days on 18th May at a cost of £370 per child.  They are refusing to give us back our money, with many other schools in the same position.  You get an automated voicemail saying they will be in touch and if us parents message them on their facebook page or other means we get told they only deal with schools.  Our school Palace Wood Primary is unable to give us our money back.  

We don't know what else to do, apparently a lot of PGL companies are all doing the same and saying parents won't get their money back as they are not a tour operating company and their insurance won't pay out.  Please can you advise as a lots of parents in the same position so at least I can inform them all.

The problem is that your contract is normally with the school, so you can't directly deal with the Activity Centre. The school is not a consumer, so normal business to business contract law applies. The school should be tackling the matter, not just saying that they can't afford to pay you back.

Who did you actually pay and who was party to the contract?

We just paid an amount monthly to the school.
