Pay as you go meters - running costs and cost of changing to traditional meter.
Options
Hi,
I've just got a new place.
The gas connection is with British Gas and it is a pay as you go meter with a card.
I've never had this type of meter before.
Wondered if any one can help me decide the best thing to do.
Is it more expensive with a pay as you go card?
Would it be more cost effective to get rid of this and get a normal meter fitted?
Thanks
Colin

Yes, get rid of it if you can.Make sure you have a new card, otherwise you could be paying the previous oocupants' arrears.1
