Help with tyre pressure please...!

  • My golden rule of thumb is always 30psi
So if you don't get a specific and exact answer, take 30psi as being right.

I've used that for every car I've ever had. Whatever it was.

This rule could be miles out. On my car its 42 psi on the back and 36 on the front. The car i had before that needed 35 at the back and 30 at the front. Its always best to check the proper pressure.

Tyre pressure is usually higher at the front to account for the engine rather than at the rear. For instance my Yaris (old style) is 36 on the front and 30 at the rear. I found my tyre pressures in my handbook under regular maintenance.

True, it is usually higher at the front but I've found that rear wheel drive cars usually have higher pressures on the back.

I'd like to see the link, because I looked and could not see an Astra SXI mentioned. And I don't think you gave us your reg year. The figures could still be wrong and you should find out for definate.

As I said it is also important to check your alloys are original equipment.
