Temp check theme park

Options
Not sure if this is the right board, but corna virus related.

Theme parked pre booked back in Feb for end of July.  They are opening 4th July.

They are doing temperature checks at entrance and if over no entry.

Issue, I'm a warm person, and worried I will fail as be over as not sure how they work.

Anyone know anything about them, or how they work?

  • Hi Marvel,
Even if you're generally a "warm feeling" person, it's highly unlikely that your body core temperature will be increased; this generally only happens if your body is fighting an infection/virus or illness of some sort.

Provided you're well and have no symptoms of COVID or other infection/virus at the time of your visit it's highly unlikely your temperature will read anything other than normal.

agree with above, a thermometer doesn’t indicate 38’c or above just because you’ve been out in the sun for a few hours, it doesn’t work like that. I’m sceptical about the use of temperature checks used as a precaution before allowing entry, they’re not that useful (if they were everywhere would be doing it!) you can still unknowingly spread the virus with a temperature that’s normal, it might also cause a false sense of security allowing people to think that everything’s fine and they’ll lower their guard against the other sensible precautions they’d normally take.

Agree with the above. Its been shown that a large number of people infected with Covid-19 never get a fever and even those that do the fever itself only lasts for a day or two and you can be infectious before and after this. I think the effectiveness of temperature checks are very limited.

It depends what temperature they decide they want to set the limit at.

The advice was that 37.8 or above is a fever, but there are definitely people who run at that or just below regularly.
