Ahhh so no cancellation scale then?    So that means mbtaylor, If cottage is open and available you will either have to go or lose your money? Unless they re-let it of course.     May be stating the obvious but IF all households still can't mix by then, you would maybe have to decide amongst yourselves who is going and who is staying.   I think it things continue as they are that might not be a problem and IF it does all go ahead as planned, I am sure you will find ways round any restrictions regarding your elderly relative e.g. go to another place where you can park, make fun in the garden etc.  You can adapt in different ways but still enjoy the holiday as a whole.  Good luck.    Incidentally our family has similar problem as 5 families due to holiday together in August but we are optimistic it will all turn out o.k.   After all, what else can you do but sit and wait?

Holiday cottages are popular at the moment so if really don't want to go tell them you don;t want to but if they can't resell it then you will go still, or 2 lucky households will.

Looks like we might end up with just one family going.  
BTW our routine is that I ferry people down to beach or town, park the car back at the cottage & then walk down myself.  Its not far but much too hilly for those who don't walk well.
