Hi,
My partner and I were due to travel to Greece earlier this month, but obviously our flights were cancelled and we could not travel due to COVID-19.
The hotel we booked via Hotels.com was a non-refundable booking. Hotels.com have said the hotel will only give us a voucher for the price of the trip to use just at there hotel in the next 12 months, which was fine as we are really excited to stay at that hotel and would love to go next year at some point. However, the prices for the same trip next year are now double the price!!! which we simply cannot afford to pay. I feel really hard done by here, and wanted to know if anyone had any tips or any idea of what we can do to either claim a refund, or pay the same price for the same holiday next year?
Your help would be greatly appreciated.

The price thing is supply and demand unfortunately. Many many people have chosen to rebook for next year pushing prices up more than usual.
So flights were cancelled but was your hotel still open? If it was then vouchers is actually a very generous offer from the hotel because with a non refundable rate they didn’t have to offer you anything.
If they weren’t open then depending on how you paid you might be able to reclaim via that.0
