Flight not cancelled but is two days before the FCO is due to change it’s advice. Insurance claim?

Hi we have flights to France with RyanAir on the 4th July. We were travelling to a group family holiday, but decided to cancel the accommodation (booked separately) and we got a refund for this last month. The flights aren’t cancelled but the FCO advice against non essential travel lasts until the 6th July (2 days after our flights on the 4th). RyanAir won’t refund or offer a voucher as the flights aren’t cancelled. We have premium travel insurance with InsureFor.com since June 2019. Could we make a travel insurance claim on the basis that the FCO advice still stands on the day we were due to fly? Thank you.

If your insurance are covering covid 19 claims possibly , but many are not . You need to check with your insurance.

If the flight is not cancelled and you don't board then a "no show " is disinclination to travel , which is almost certainly not covered

You can certainly try the insurance route. They may or may not accept the claim based on the flight actually still travelling at this point.

The FCO advice should be enough to trigger a successful insurance claim.
