Easyjet flights to portugal not cancelled

Hi we were due to fly to Portugal on 7/7 currently our flights are not cancelled. Our friends flights on 8/7 are cancelled as Easyjet seems to be trying to fly every other day from Belfast. Currently FCO advises against all none essential travel and due to new lockdown in Lisbon the quarantine rules have not been lifted for Portugal. Do you think Easyjet will eventually cancel this flight , it is now showing as sold out on the app ? I also have annual travel insurance with Nationwide so would that cover my family ? Thanks

The FCO have relaxed their warnings now and many airlines are flying a number of flights. All you can do is wait to see what happens with your flights, if they are cancelled then you would be due a refund from the airline. As for your insurance, that is unlikely to pay out if you merely cancel due to disinclination , but as usual always check your small print.

I believe from others on here that flights that have been showing as sold out have eventually been cancelled.

It is currently a waiting game I’m afraid. Your post seems to suggest that they have currently been flying every other day? Is that correct? 

If the flight does go ahead and you choose not to go due to the FCO advice of it is still in place then you can try with the travel insurance but I think they’ll tell you that the flight was operating so they won’t pay out.

Yes they seem to be flying other day so we have just been unlucky. Alrhough we have a glimmer of hope as seats were available yesterday but showing sold out now 🙏🏻 thanks for the advice will wait with bated breathe !
