I have moved into a new build house, DVLA database is not up to date so I can't select my address or even type it in, it doesn't allow it.

I have read that I can fill in a D741 form which 'came with my licence', but I don't have one of these. I have my old D740 Counterpart Driving Licence which has a section you can fill in your new address details and send to the DVLA along with your photo ID Card.....

My question is.....will the DVLA accept a filled in D740 with my change of address as I understand the D740 counterpart driving licence is no longer distributed/used since 2015.

Thanks.

I just wouldn't bother changing the address on my licence for a while until the system catches up. The address is useful for ID but little else.

The key ones are the insurance and the V5C for tax reminders, speeding/parking offences, etc.

...assuming V5C is correct, and postal redirection is in place...

You can also use a D1 form - get one from the Post Office - DVLA used to post them out to you on request but not doing that at present

    Ok, thanks.

Tried doing the V5C address change online and it comes up with 'your address is not recognised - our system is based on Ordnance Survey's database and their records may not be up to date'.

Where do Ordnance Survey get the address info from? how do they find out about the address and then list it? do I need to contact them?

If the house is new build that may explain your difficulties?
