Thanks, yes - that sounds par for the course. The people I blame are really the Government/politicians who put nothing in place to provide redress to people affected by mistakes made by these companies. And CA/Which? have been negligent in not fighting this particular corner as well.Companies like this make money hand over fist, because at the end of the day most of their profit-generation is automated i.e. all they do is scoop up data collected by others and (inaccurately) match it with other data they have collected.Like Facebook and the rest, they just don't want to pay for (enough) human employees to deal with the inevitable mistakes. Have not got whole saga to post yet, but in my case it now seems likely that the 'issue' might be that my middle initial was not recorded on the Electoral Roll until a few years back when it was corrected. So, anyone searching on my name and my move in date... gets told 'does not exist'. They have to put in my name and 'electoral roll correction date'.Also, it is very unclear how changes get made to the credit file - in some cases (I could be wrong) it seems to be that simply you providing data yourself (e.g. when you sign up to Experian CreditExpert) suddenly changes data on your credit file - all a bit of a headscratcher.Shall post more when I have further talks with Experian and report back.1
