  • I just had a brief look at the warm home discount . As I'm on universal credit, there may be a slim chance of getting it .
  • Thanks for that tall Dave 😼

I don't qualify for warm home discount , as I'm not a pensioner just yet.
Eon did give me a boiler grant though as I'm on universal credit and a home moaner.
You don't necessarily have to be a pensioner, you may well qualify for the WHD broader group.  Might be worth taking a gamble and going with EDF?

EDF probably won't be able to tell you much because the WHD scheme doesn't open for several months.  You'll just have to decide whether gambling a sprat will catch a mackerel.
Ditto, Neon Reef prices could rise, but they seem to be cheap and good so that's probably a gamble worth taking, and of course there's no exit fee.
  • Thanks Gerry 1
I went onto the edf app..closed due to maintenance !
I did have a chance to send a text ,and did that . I just said I want to quit .
I received a follow up text asking me for details .
I may wait till app is up and running again . It was out of action for a few days last week
I think I'll contact orbit by email telling them I won't be using them.
no doubt I'll still receive welcome pack .
I'll get there in the end 😾
  • Well, I decided to go on the edf website and I got onto live chat
I was politely told that they cannot access my account at the moment, and gave me their customer service no.
I politely told them that I'll sit till app is up and running and cancel there .
The advisor still asked me to phone , but in the end we just said goodbye .
I logged into orbit and gave them my account no etc and asked them not to proceed and to get back to me to confirm they have my request .
I received automated email response ,,so am waiting ..

..and another update I finally got through to edf via live chat .
When asked the reasons why I want to leave I didn't hold back . What I said was treated as a complaint . I was offered £15 as a goodwill gesture and the complaint closed . I said it was paltry and the figure should be £50. The adviser went to her team again , and I settled for their £25 final offer.
I was sent the advisers personal offers on new tariff by the adviser via email .
I also asked her to confirm my annual usage .
She confirmed my annual usage being 4293 electric and 5998 gas .
The special offers are exactly the same as the tarrifs on the edf website .
The gas tariff that she sent was not available. I suspect because orbit have jumped in there somewhere .
    Lots of reading .
Changing suppliers is draining when you are unwell.
Having said that, I got £25 from edf so a small victory  I guess
