Flexible furlough scheme

Hi, I've been furloughed since the start of lockdown, but my boss insisted I work from home. This I have done, albeit reluctantly. The business has generated profit during this time. My boss would now like a "phased return" to work, ie. a day a week in the office. But, he said he'd only pay 80%. Can he do this?
Also, I'm booked to have a week off in August, but he said "three months off, then a holiday?" I feel awkward. I've worked when I shouldn't have been, and this is how I'm thanked. Any views / advice appreciated.

Find another job and then report current boss to HMRC for making you work during furlough.
    It's not difficult!

Not much you can do now without shooting yourself in the foot. Assuming you need the pay to pay your bills no point taking the moral high ground now find another job then report him.

Where do we draw the line? I understand the mentality behind this advice but on the flip side because it’s so prevalent employers are getting away with breaking rules as a result.

When you are rich enough to not need the money to pay the bills and put food on the table.
  • Good evening
My partner is on a zero hours contract ( since September 2017 ) ,working at a university shop in Manchester ,she has been on the coronavirus job retention scheme since 18th March 2020 having 80% of her wage paid . However her company have now wrote to her again saying her period of Furlough will end and she will enter a period in her employment of unpaid leave until the new term begins ( this being September / October ) , she has also been told that she is not eligible to continue receiving funds from the government job retention scheme , so she is not being offered any hours to qualify for "flexible" furlough , or being paid any retention . Can anybody please help with any advice on this ?
    Kind regards
    Darren

There are some other posts like this. Employers don't start contributing to furlough (apart from holiday pay) until 1 August. I am wondering whether this has something to do with the new maximum number of employees on furlough in any one period rule coming in. If they are hitting the limit, the obvious employees to take off are the ones on zero hour contracts. Zero hour contract employees are not without rights. See https://www.gov.uk/government/publications/zero-hours-contracts-guidance-for-employers/zero-hours-contracts-guidance-for-employers and https://www.lawdonut.co.uk/business/employment-law/working-time-hours-leave-flexible-working/guide-to-zero-hours-contracts-for-employers
  • Hi we are on 80% of our pay and doing 80% of our hours but the company claims back the other 20% of our hours when we are furloughed. Is this allowed?
