Return to work- reduced hours

Hi, please can I ask for some help with something I just cannot find clarification on.
I am due to return to work on 1st July on 80% hours (4 days instead of 5 per week) I earn £47k per annum normally so have been capped by the £2.5k gross maximum so far.
My question is, when I return will I get 80% of the unpaid day (day 5 of 5 as it were) as the government will not be paying me over £2.5k per month then or, as my overall salary will still exceed this £2.5k gross per month will I not receive anything for this day from the scheme?
I hope that all makes sense and thank you in advance.

Well this sounds like you are goung back to work and have agreed to a 20% reduction in hours which results in a 20% reduction in salary. Furlough is irrelevant, because you wouldnt be on furlough.0

If you mean that you will be on flexible furlough for one day a week, this explains how it will work:

It means days 1, 2, 3 and 4 where you are working you will get 100% from your employer for those days.
Day 5 when you are furloughed will be at 80%, albeit capped at the equivalent of £2500 per month.

Hi all, thank you so much for your help and coming back so quickly. Just so I understand, if my normal salary for the 4 days i am working put me over the £2.5k gross per month then I would effectively receive nothing additional from the part time Furlough scheme? Or because the scheme will be paying out less than £2.5k gross for me (equalling 1 day at 80% salary x roughly 4 weeks) would I still be entitled to this?
Thanks again.0 -
You should be paid 4 days at 100% (working days each week).
1 day per week at 80% subject to the £2.5k cap monthly. As it is only 20% of the week covered by furlough, the cap will be 20% of £2.5k0 -
Your reference salary is what CJRS claims are based on. That was calculated when you first went on furlough. If capped at £2,500 a month that is the figure that will be prorated to work out the claim for the day a week you are furloughed. What you are actually paid depends on your furlough agreement and contract of employment, but any CJRS claim for your net pay must be paid to you.
