Furlough and getting new employment

I am a chef and have been furloughed since the end of march. I have had no contact from my employer since the end of May. I have found out on social media that they plan to open 4th July but as of yet had no details as to whether we are returning back to work. If I was to find employment elsewhere would I just had my notice in or is it different rules when furloughed? Tia

Your employment contract remains in force throughout furlough. You should give notice as specified, just as if you had still been working.
