Do you have any recommendations for garden furniture?bowlhead99 said:You could put it in an investment fund. You could put it in a savings account for a rainy day. You could buy some garden furniture for a sunny day.

Gold will more likely go up over the next few years quite substantially imho. It's one of the few stores of value against debased fiat currencies due to massive QE.wrenlegs said:But... if I hang onto it, doesn’t that mean that realistically the value is going to decrease? I may have to wait a long time for it to reach the same value again.

That's as may be, but gold is a very bad choice for garden furniture. Please get back to my topic hijackEdGasketTheSecond said:Gold will more likely go up over the next few years quite substantially imho. It's one of the few stores of value against debased fiat currencies due to massive QE.

I find gold a bit of an odd one, we hold a small amount gold mostly in Sovereigns and then I have some jewellery that I rarely wear. One necklace 18kt gold with ruby and diamonds my Husband bought me many years ago for £400, now to get similar from new I'd be looking at £3k but I wouldn't expect to realise this price for it as someone would only pay scrap value, about 3 years ago I could have got circa £700 not that I'm planning on selling.

I would pick something wooden or cast iron. Plastic furniture wouldn't work in my garden as I live in a wind tunnel.Alistair31 said:
