I have been in my council house for over 8 years. My garden goes to the opposite gardens fence which the last owner put up .The new owners have been there 3 year and now say they want back 2 foot of garden which apparently own. As they have said they have just come to realise they own after 3 years. They have seen me pull out bushes .erect a shed . And now have the cheek to claim back under 2 foot can they take it even though fence has been there for over 8 years

Is it in the wrong place? Download the titles for both properties for £3 each from the LR if you're unsure.1

It may appear the last owners of the neighbour has brought back his fencing as there was bushes etc he may of thought instead of pulling it all out he just fenced in front of it to save time now I've been here 8 years and not had any trouble when I used that piece of garden like I say not even 2 foot0

Not your problem. Tell the council your landlord and let them deal with it.2

It's certainly not yours; it's either theirs, or the council's. What you want or think is irrelevant. Tell the council, and if the council want to give it back to the owner, then that is their business.2

Agree just tell the neighbour it’s nothing to do with you, Council own the house and to contact them... Then sit back and see how far they get 😏1
