ARO Insurance. Any comments.

Hi. I've been shopping around for landlord insurance and got a good price from ARO. Their excesses are very low as well. I've never heard of them so does anyone have any experience or knowledge of them?

They are an MGA, so an intermediary which an insurer has allowed to write insurance on their behalf. How much delegation a MGA can get varies from just doing sales and service to full end to end insurance such that you'd never have any dealings with the actual insurer. 

MGAs are temporary arrangements with insurers, so if it's not a full end to end delegation then matters can change notably if the MGA changes which insurer they are working with. If its full end to end then who's paper makes very little difference.  A quick check with Aro shows they give different contact details depending on the capacity provider so checking prior experience may not be telling

Right now they are writing on Allied World paper, part of Fairfax Group. Dont know that much about them, other than their Lloyds Syndicate, but Fairfax is massive owning a range of global insurers like Brit and oddly, Toys R Us Canada.
