OP, just to echo what others have said, if you are a novice investor with modest amounts to invest, do not invest in individual companies.
It's easy to get caught up in flashy news stories about the latest company that doubled its value overnight, but (a) this sort of occurrence almost never happens, and (b) even the experts don't know when it's going to happen, or what might happen to the markets next. Think, for example, if you'd invested in a travel company earlier in the year. You'd now be stuffed, looking at huge losses. Now, if you'd invested in Amazon, the story would be different. It's just too risky. Find a low-cost platform, and invest in a low-cost well-diversified Index fund.(Nearly) dunroving1
