Ordered a monitor but got an Apple MacBook!

I have a dilemma. I ordered a monitor from a website and when it arrived I found that it was a brand new laptop. I was disappointed at first but now I have a new laptop just sitting there. I haven't unboxed it yet because I don't know legally what I can do. If the company asks for it back or asks if I have received the correct package what can I do? The invoice is for the monitor.

Well obviously they are entitled to it back!
You can, within reason, make them do the running around and collect it at a time convenient to you and deliver the correct monitor that you have paid for but that is all!1 -
It's only a "dilemma" if you are inherently dishonest. I think you know exactly what you should be doing.nathmillo said:I have a dilemma. If you were inherently dishonest then I dont think it would be a "dilemma"neilmcl said:

They would have 6 years to figure out their mistake and charge you for it, so you would have to use/sell it and hope they forget, or hold on to it for 6 years in its box before claiming it. Can you afford it?
Or you could just contact the company, let them know their mistake, and ask them to collect the incorrect item and replace it with what you wanted! This should be at your convenience though.Should've = Should HAVE (not 'of')
Would've = Would HAVE (not 'of')
No, I am not perfect, but yes I do judge people on their use of basic English language. If you didn't know the above, then learn it! (If English is your second language, then you are forgiven!)0 -
"Dilemma" is an interesting choice of word.
If they had sent you an Etch-a-Sketch, would you consider your next steps a dilemma?5 -
Somebody somewhere probably has a nice new monitor - and they were expecting a MacBook. They'll probably be on the phone as we speak screaming blue murder and asking where their MacBook is. It probably won't take them long to work out what's gone wrong
It's not really a dilemma is it? If you'd received a tin of beans instead of your monitor - you'd be on the phone in seconds.
It might be nice to momentarily think of how nice it would be to get a free MacBook - but it's not yours - so pick up the phone, get your monitor sent, and let the person who paid for the MacBook get it

Is this one of the Moral Dilemmas that MSE used to dream up? (Haven't seen any of those lately).1

No the MSE dilemmas are still there maybe they are just better at hiding them.0
