Barclays PPI claim, further information..Help

Hi all,
I've put a claim in for my Barclay card PPI last August. For a period from March 2001 to 2019?
Just received a letter asking for addition information, like what medical condition did I have, what sick pay & redundancy pay I was entitled to at the time.
How was I sold the PPI?
Now at the time I was a nieve 23 year old and wouldn't have had a clue about ppi and probably wasnt really interested in sick pay or redundancy pay.
I dont have any access to documents to prove any of this... and I'm really not sure what to do? And could do with some help please.... my response deadline is 7th July..
Please please help? Thank you in advance!

You simply answer what you can and leave what you can't.

Don't guess or make anything up.

Thank you, they should still pay out though?
I didn't know if they were trying to get out of it...

They'll pay out if your complaint is valid.  Not if they aren't.  You haven't said what your complaint reasons are.

In what way would they be trying to get out of it?

I said at the time I was unaware I had PPI on my credit card and what it was for.
Just the way the letter was, I thought they might try and get out of it, but 2001, theres no proof either way. All a bit new to me, 1st claim!

Being unaware of having PPI for 18 years might be a bit of a stretch.  The second complaint reason of not knowing what the PPI was for then of course contradicts the first.

    Maybe you'll get lucky though...

Fingers crossed, I was just worried about trying to provide the paperwork they require for that period of time. When I simply dont have it. What would happen? And how do I answer the letter.... Eek!

Your first complaint point is easily defended as the charge was on every statement where you carried forward a balance and as zx81 says, your 2nd point also contradicts it.

    it's spelt d-e-f-i-n-i-t-e-l-y
there - 'in or at that place'
    their - 'owned by them'
    they're - 'they are'
it's bought not brought (i just bought my chicken a suit from that new shop for £6.34)

In some cases Barclays have been right on the ball where ppi payments are concerned. My sister received a refund without even applying & hadn't realised she had been paying for ppi until she then went back to check her bank statements. She isn't the only one who received a refund out of the blue either.
The bigger the bargain, the better I feel.

I should mention that there's only one of me, don't confuse me with others of the same name.
