Jet2 August holiday cancelled

Hi,
i’ve had a holiday to Menorca booked with Jet2 since February the holiday was due to depart on the 5th of August 2020. The information Jet2 are giving is that holidays after the 15th of July will still go ahead and any before that will be cancelled. The balance for our holiday was due to be paid on the 24th of June which was yesterday,Jet2 took the money from my account at around 2 am in the morning and we received an email at around 1 pm saying our holiday had been cancelled due to a reduced program. Everything I can find on the Internet still says the holidays after the 15th of July will go ahead. Has anyone else had the same problem? I’m a bit annoyed as it’s now going to be difficult to get a refund for the large sum of money that they took from my account on the same day that they cancelled it.

Jet2 have been very good at refunding peoples money if you read the long running existing jet2 threadEx forum ambassador

This may not apply to you but I've read that JET2 have cancelled some holidays that aren't of a 7/14 day duration e.g. 10 days as part of their reduced program.I with with Browntoa about JET2 and refunds, they have been praised for the speed of their refunds.0

We had our holiday with Jet2 cancelled yesterday. Our travel agents said we would receive the refund within 2 weeks.0

It is the offer of a replacement holiday I am asking about. The refund would not cover the cost of rebooking the replacement holiday which should be offered at the same cost as far as I can see.0

They have condensed their flight programme for 2020, we were also cancelled yesterday for Greece. I have re-booked already using their online credit note, but you can also get a refund within a few weeks I believe.
The equivalent holiday was slightly more expensive for next year but that's supply & demand for you.0 -
Sorry for last message, wrong thread. I've also had a cancellation from Jet2 and they are supposed to offer an alternative holiday or a refund. They do not seem to be offering the alternatives. Have a look at the website and if you can find a suitable alternative you can switch holidays with no admin costs and get £100 off (check with them 1st but we were offered this option). You will need to he flexible with dates as it is the flights that have been cancelled and not the hotels. This will save you having to pay again whilst waiting for a refund.

The problem with that scenario also is any alternative they might have hoped to offer will likely have the same issues with services they can offer hence why refunds are being given.
Holiday prices will naturally be more expensive for next year as it stands because of the demand for them currently. This may or may not change as time goes on.0 -
It says it clearly in the terms and conditions. Look on-line under if we cancel your holiday. However, they are not honouring this at the moment and are just cancelling. If you can be flexible with dates, there are some great deals flying out in July ( they won't be aroud long though as likely the quarantine restrictions will lift on Monday and then there will be a glut of bookings. We are lucky as quarantine would not be an issue on return for us so have re-booked a higher star hotel on AI rather than SC for the same money. Jet2 have just moved the balance across. If you have children free child place are available in July.0
