hi I booked a holiday with villa plus due to leave next week, as I haven’t heard anything from them should I assume it is going ahead.  I have tried to contact them numerous times but got no response. Thanks

A bit more information might be helpful such as where the holiday is (uk? Abroad? ) and if you were flying are your flights cancelled or not?
All shall be well, and all shall be well, and all manner of things shall be well.

Pedant alert - it's could have, not could of.
  • Holiday is to Meronca, it was a package holiday booking with Villa Plus and we haven’t heard anything from them at all so don’t know if flights have been cancelled.

Have you checked the flights via the airline's website?

Yes, you do need to be pro-active in checking the flights out. What airline is it?
Have you tried contacting the villa directly to see if they are open or not?
You also need to check the government travel advice as that could impact on your insurance.

Also to add, you need to keep checking the holiday website for updates.

At the moment they are refunding up to 28th June. They also say if you have a package booking from 29th June do not try to contact them as they do not yet know what is happening but will let you know as soon as they hear..

  • Yes thanks, I had been checking that but obvs not helpful in knowing whether the holiday is going ahead - was wondering if people thought we should assume it is going ahead unless we hear otherwise.

Jet2 who are the flight provider posted on the 5 June they won’t be flying until the 18th July. But we haven’t heard from Villa plus so wondering does this mean they might be looking for another flight operator or just not communicating that holidays have been cancelled.  Guess I am just wondering if anyone had any insight on how likely the former would be. 😁

I found out that our hotel was closed for the rest of the year by looking at their website. I phoned the travel agents and they knew nothing about it. They phoned later that afternoon to say Jet2 had cancelled our holiday.

Probably just not communicating because they are so busy firefighting. Expedia didn't tell me my flight was cancelled - I got a rather naughty email from them telling me I could cancel if I wished, but it's only when I checked myself that I realised that it had already effectively been cancelled because they couldn't provide all the elements.
I think the chances of Villa plus looking around for another flight operator are minimal, tbh. I'd be presuming you weren't going, rather than the other way round.
