Previous landlord has previous estate agent asking me to provide utility bills

Hi, I moved out of my rented property in February to a house in the same street. When the previous landlord contacted me to say the previous landlord was having trouble with getting the bills in his name I gave the name of the suppliers, Sky and Pure Planet. Two weeks later the old estate agent contacted me again to say that he wanted more info so I sent pics of letters stating that the water bill was transferred to my address on the day of move, also the council tax, fully paid and transferred to new address, and sent pictures of the gas and electric meters showing readings that I sent to the energy company on the last day. I said I would send the meter reading I sent to the water co when I could find it. The estate agent has now phoned me again to request the actual bills from the utilities, some four months after I moved. Am I right in thinking that my bills are confidential and personal to me. The LL btw entered the property about 15 times at least in the 3 years I lived there despite it being fully managed. I was very accommodating but I think he is taking the Micky now. Am I within my rights to refuse to send him my actual bills. As I said I live down the same road and he has been here to drop mail off. I fell this is intrusive and also I am a little embarrassed as the water bill is being paid off. I am a single parent. Absolutely no problems with the tenancy and all deposit returned. He is currently renovating the house to live in himself. I don't know why he is pursuing this.

Assuming you were responsible for utilities, it is none of the LL's business. You've told him who the suppliers were. Sorted. not your problem. Not sure what the relevance of the 15 visits is - if that was a problem for you at the time you could/should have dealt with it then.1

Yes absolutely you can refuse, especially in the absence of any sensible reason being given.1

Am I obligated to send in confirmation of water meter reads? I cant do that without sending my bill really. Ive already emailed the confirmation of change of address letter. The problem is the previous estate agent has called me twice now asking for this. I guess he wants to get the guy off his back. Should I ask him to request the bills in writing? Along with requesting a valid reason for wanting this documentation? I'm surprised the estate agent hasn't told him that it isn't something I have to provide. The EA said the LL "was tearing his hair out" trying to sort out his energy co stuff. And that the energy co "won't talk to him ". I was rushing out to an appt so I couldn't get details. He told me this last time he rang and I said Why not its his house? Should the EA even be asking me for this?
