Extending Mortgage Holiday (Natwest)

So further the government advice to lenders I received a letter from Natwest explaining how to extend my mortgage holiday online should I need to. Signed in the next day, ticked all the boxes, submitted and promptly forgot about it.

Double checked today as haven't received any further communication and logging in online it appears my next payment date is still the 1st of July and the extension doesn't seem to have been applied.

This post is part question and part warning : Has anyone else in the same situation know if this is just slow updating on their part or should I be worried ( I will of course call up in office hours tomorrow and try and confirm for myself ), but also if like me you have done it online and just put your feet up, it may be worth double checking that the further holiday has been applied.

    When did you apply? Give the NatWest an opportunity to process.

    Sorry should've added that - I got the letter on the 8th, so would've been a day or 2 later.

    edit : I will obviously be chasing them tomorrow, just be a bit of piece of mind if someone in a similar situation has already done the chasing and found it to be slow updating on Natwest's behalf rather than panic that I will have to find the mortgage payment in 6 days..

    Direct debits are often submitted 2-3 weeks in advance of the payment date.   They may be able to recall it in time but it may already be in the system.  You will need to ask them.

  • Update to this if anyone in a similar position is reading this : 

    Spoke to Natwest, even though I hadn't received confirmation and on Manage My Mortgage it still shows next payment due is at the end of the initial 3 month holiday, the lady on the phone assured me the holiday has been applied for the further 3 months - and they will re-send confirmation, so appears to be communication error rather than failure to apply holiday, in my case anyway.
