Flight cancellation

I have a multi contractual package with Hays Travel on 7 July 2020 to Corfu.  Easy Jet have notified Hays that the outward flight on 7 July is cancelled but can not give me a refund until Easy Jet cancel the return flight.  It appears obvious to me that if outgoing flight is cancelled then there can be no return flight for the same package.  Are Hays correct or do not want to part with the money?? I have e-mail confirming this.

With a package holiday, ATOL-certified, cancellation of one part gives you the right to a 14 day refund for the whole package, so they are simply fobbing you off.

You're ATOL-protected, therefore are entitled to a refund within 14 days, as detailed in the Package Travel Directive (click here).

Putting this in writing may force their hand, however if they're being difficult and you've paid on a card, chargeback (or Section 75) will be useful for you.
