Completely understand the curiosity bit (I'd be just the same!), but perhaps give the solicitor and break - and avoid racking up fees - by asking questions which at this stage they won't be able to answer with any accuracy, so are likely to parry the question, which will only annoy your mum!NatalieanneDFW said:
Thank you, that makes sense! We will try and find out some more info about what is included.Brambling said:It does depend on the will does it say the residual of the estate including the house or has the house been left to someone else? Did the house have a mortgage or equity release against it or will some of the funds be needed to cover care home costs. She can ask the solicitor for more information1

The will should now be public record.

Any house sale can be tracked.
Rightmove has decent interface to those.0

Thank you for this. We have managed to order a copy of the will. I had no idea that they were public record! I can't find the house on Rightmove, I've checked everything and it's not on there so perhaps the house was left to someone.getmore4less said:The will should now be public record.

We have managed to order a copy of the will now thanks to another member but in all fairness, we haven't bothered the solicitor with anything as only recieved this letter in the post with no idea what sort of amount/percentage had been left to her. The copy of the will should answer her queries anyway. ThanksBrynsam said:

as awell as looking to see if it for sale you can check if it has been sold already
Takes a couple of months to get to the land reg and that data is this part of rightmove.

Thank you, I've been an estate agent so I do know how to use rightmove etc and there is no record whatsoever of the property. It's not been sold or even advertised.getmore4less said:as awell as looking to see if it for sale you can check if it has been sold already
