was wondering are you better off without the housing benefit since they pay you less which means you have a longertime till you reach the benefit cap?

Obviously not because you are receiving less money. The benefit cap restricts the maximum amount you can get - you can't be better off by getting less than that.vtoea said:was wondering are you better off without the housing benefit since they pay you less which means you have a longertime till you reach the benefit cap?Information I post is for England unless otherwise stated. Some rules may be different in other parts of UK.0 -
This makes no sense. If you have low income and no savings then how can you be better off without claiming for help with your rent? In most cases, it's no longer possible to start a new claim for housing benefit. It's universal credit now in all areas.

How many days after you move you have to report your change of address does it have to be on the same day you move cause I was busy and I didn't report my change of address0

Yes it should be the same day or as soon as possible, as you can report the change at anytime online.vtoea said:How many days after you move you have to report your change of address does it have to be on the same day you move cause I was busy and I didn't report my change of address

I moved on 15 then I had to sort other things like bank details change/post redirection/house hold items/internet connection which supposed to start on 16 but didnt start till 19 so I had to raise a issues with this also cause of no fault of my ownit did not work then weekend came after weekend my claim was suspended till today im thinking tomorrow because I already had to much issues to fix with universal credit raising mutiple complains with different people to different emails and was thinking since my claim got suspended and I didnt know how long will take I did not report the changes.poppy12345 said:I'm assuming you've reported it now as you now have internet access..0 -
I'm confused by your question here because in anorther thread you stated your UC had stopped and now you're asking about reporting changes due to moving house. You now have internet access so just log onto your journal and report the changes then it's job done.I also note from another thread that you've claimed for Maternity allowance, do be aware that this is deducted in full from your UC entitlement.1

Yes it was stopped but it was resumed today after a lovely lady contacted me and told me they was in wrong to stop it and it was a missunderstanding from them and told me she will take care of everything and for matternity allowance still waiting for an answer.poppy12345 said:I'm confused by your question here because in anorther thread you stated your UC had stopped and now you're asking about reporting changes due to moving house. I just dont want raising mutiple queries at same time I raised so much issues already and complains and still waiting for tomorrow to see everything is really okay like she said!0 -
You need to report those changes.

You should report the change immediately, but at the very least you will want to report the change in the AP in which it happened otherwise you will may get an underpayment if you've just started renting or an overpayment if you have moved to a cheaper property. Obviously an underpayment is not good for you as they may not backdate the change, and if you fail to report a change which leads to an overpayment you may be subject to a civil penalty fine of £50 for reporting the change late.vtoea said:How many days after you move you have to report your change of address does it have to be on the same day you move cause I was busy and I didn't report my change of address
