Hi guys, We're looking for a cheap van for my husband and we've received an offer for  reg. BV56UFJ  Vauhall Vivaro 2007  170k miles. We were told the engine has been 'renovated'. The thing that worries us is when we've checked the MOT history it looks like it wasn't used for 5 years at all... And the number of advisories. Could you please have a look based on that  if it is  worth to buy this van for £2200. How much would it be to repair these issues and how urgent these are?
Thank you in advance

Nothing particularly major there - a couple of consumables, and that's it. Pair of rear dampers, and a good once-over the brakes. Might need a front-rear brakepipe (not a major job), or might not. Full MOT history suggests it's been worked and not pampered, but there's nothing more than consumables in there.

Why does a 14yo van being unused for ~3.5yrs "worry" you? 5k miles after June 2016 MOT before May 2020 MOT. Consistent mostly 20k/yr before that.

Looks to me like the van worked for its living, got parked up, and over lockdown they've decided to get it shifted on - either to make space, free capital, or close the business.

Presumably it has hardly moved since the MOT - advisories won't get better on their own and will cost at least a couple of hundred to sort out. Try to get a deal where they either fix the advisories or lower the price to enable you to afford to do it.
If you are not happy, walk away. There will be other vans out there.
