KLM flight cancelled

We have today received an email to say that our flights are cancelled so we want to apply for the cash refund. However, when going through the process the only option that comes up makes it sound like we are cancelling the tickets not the airline. Has anybody completed a refunded with KLM and would this be correct? I am just worried about doing it wrong.

As far as I'm aware nobody has been getting cash refunds easily from KLM for cancellations of their flightsEx forum ambassador
