Financial support - shielded and self employed

Appreciated some guidance. I have been self employed since April 2019 and worked on a 6 month contract that finished November 2019 with an expectation to look again for another contract at the beginning of March 2020 when lockdown began. I have not submitted any accounts as yet (due Jan 2021), VAT has been settled. I have been looking for work since (went through an interview process early March but was not successful) . However I was notified because of previous health condition that I should remain shielded which has now been extended to the end of July which restricts any ability for me to return to work. I did try to access Universal Credit and was advised that my savings threshold was too high (redundancy settlement from employment Feb 2018), plus have some income from a pension from a previous employer. (have previously been employed since 1979. I live on my own
Any guidance would be helpful

Use the time between now and 31 July to research opportunities for work. There aren't any benefits or grants you will be eligible for, except self assessment tax deferral. You could also ask for a mortgage break, but these are not advised if you don't have any other options.0
