Car insurance refund after cancellation amount calculation confusion
I sold my car and insurance was renewed from Aviva just on 5-April-20. I had paid annual premium of about £500. When I requested for cancellation they are saying i will get a refund of about £190 which includes a cancellation fee of about £50 (wonder why and also why so high).
Simple calculation says : 500-(500/12*3)-45= 330 as refund.
Please can someone help me understand if I am missing anything?

Who promised you a strictly pro-rata refund? In the first 14 day cooling-off period, yep. After that, no.
There'll have been other setup costs and charges to be taken off the £500 premium, too.

You are entitled to a pro rata refund of premium less any admin fees they made clear to you at the time of purchase.
