I'm hoping someone can help me. I have seen a job I want to apply for:
http://www.perse.co.uk/prep/document-library/
I need to be able to download the file 'application form for current vacancies' in a format which allows me to complete it on computer (rather than print and handwrite) and then email it back. Is this possible please? If so, how????

Hi
That application form requires your signature.Never interrupt your enemy when he is making a mistake.0 -
Thanks for such a quick reply. I understand what you mean but in the advice to applicants it is very confusing as in one place it gives an email address to reply to and in another place an address to snailmail school secretary!Hi
That application form requires your signature.
Assuming I do have to sign it, does that mean the only way I can complete it is to print it off and fill it all in by hand? Is there any way i can word process my answers and then print it off and sign?“A journey is best measured in friends, not in miles.”

I'm really trying to avoid filling it in by hand if I possibly can (I don't mind signing though). Is there any way of converting a pdf document to Word?how about printing it out, filling it in and then scanning it back to your computer?“A journey is best measured in friends, not in miles.”

Hi
I think that would be the way to do it.
Fill in the form neatly on the PC and sign it manually. Then snailmail it, or email a scan.
Maybe someone here will recommend some software to use.Never interrupt your enemy when he is making a mistake.0 -
Yes. Google "PDF to Word"
Although don't expect to find the right solution the first time. Might take you 3-4 goes of software to get it the way you want it (some freebies have limitations)0 -
Here's a thought - they've deliberatly chosen to not let you fill it in on line: they might want to see what your handwritings like0

The problem is that you may lose quite a lot of the formatting converting from PDF to doc.
You could possibly use a screen shot, and then use the text in Paint to write in your details, as I have done on this page

I would ring them in the morning and ask if they have a Word copy. Then also arrange an appt to speak to the Head about the post as offered in the spec. If you are going to be required to do a demo teach as part of an interview process which begins on Weds then you need to make this application personal ASAP to give yourself the best chancee.
Failing that I would print it., neatly fill in the dtailed stuff by hand but in the more substantive sections write 'please see attached sheet' and type the part about how you fit the requirements of the job. Also enclose a fab CV on excellent quality paper.
all the best!0 -
Do not enclose a CV. They don't want that.
Having printed the blank form, measure the larger spaces and type on plain paper to fit the space available. Cut and paste these typed entries into the form. Then photocopy the lot to get a smooth finish.0
