I bought a refrigerator and a gas cooker from ao.com. They were delivered separately several weeks apart. I assume because of COVID.

- The delivery was scheduled for sometime between 4 pm and 7pm. They showed up at 8:30 pm.
- The four screws that attach the handles to the fridge were missing. They were apologetic and called ao.com, who instructed them to take photos. The delivery men said that ao.com would call me and arrange those screws to be shipped. (so that I could attach the handles, and actually get into my fridge). They never called.
- Charged me £35 for an installation, which they did not do. (they did refund this!)
Three weeks later. Scheduled delivery was 7 am to 10 am. They called at 4 pm that day to say that we wouldn't be getting a cooker, they didn't have any more in stock and they didn't know when they'd have another cooker back in stock. He was very nice and apologetic, and said that our cooker had gotten damaged and we could have a refund. I'd rather have a working cooker but there you are.
Anyway, the fridge is beautiful, I have an air fryer so I have been using that instead of the cooker, but likely won't shop at ao.com again.

Did you get the screws to fit the handles?0

no. it was a hassle to get the refund so I didn't have the energy to follow up. I had some extra screws, wrong size though so they stick out a bit.

Sounds like they dropped the cooker. Annoying but these things do happen.I quite like AO, I tend to order all my appliances from them.1

AO tends to be my first port of call for appliances. The main irritation is the follow up 'warranty' calls you need to fend off.
Only issue I ever had was a slight dint in a dishwasher door. They responded immediately and offered either a discount or a replacement. I took the discount and the refund was in my bank by the end of the day.1 -
I've just had a new washing machine from them. Excellent service. Kept informed at each stage of delivery, having picked the 7am to 7pm option. I had a text to say they'd arrive between 10.15 and 12. Later a phone call to say they would be with us ten minutes. The guy had a bit of trouble disconnecting old machine, but all done ad cleaned up superbly.Member #14 of SKI-ers club
Words, words, they're all we have to go by!.
(Pity they are mangled by this autocorrect!)1 -
I too love AO.com - was very badly stung by Curries over a decade ago and have never looked back. AO I have found to be exemplary and seem to aspire to wanting good feedback from customers, right up there with JL.No man is worth crawling on this earth.
