I lost my Amex card on Sunday and reported it Yesterday lunch time

I'm glad to hear that your replacement card was issued quickly - In my experience Amex have generally been very good in this respect.
Sadly, the same can't be said of their handling of a Section 75 claim that I raised at the start of July - this still hasn't been resolved! I have chased a couple of times but keep being told that there is no legal timeframe to deal with S75 claims, and that they have been inundated by people seeking refunds for cancelled flights - no surprises there, I'm one of those people. I probably won't be paying an annual membership fee to Amex ever again.
As a bonus: When I queried the timescale with the Financial Ombudsman I was told that I would need to complain to Amex about the delays in dealing with my S75 complaint (yep - raise a further complaint about how long it was taking to resolve my original complaint!!) and then wait a further 8 weeks for Amex to respond before I could take it to the Ombudsman.0 -
That's normal ... you need an active complaint with the financial organisation, and said complaint must be at least 8 weeks old (or a formal Deadlock letter issued by the organisation) before you can raise a complaint with FOS. None of that has changed due to COVID.0
